Excerpt 1: 

Bear shook his head and gestured to the keys. “Whose is whose?”

Elbie shrugged. “Don’t matter. Technically, Miss–” she glanced at her right palm which was covered in layers of black and blue scribbles. “Cooper, you’ve booked Suite Room A. But either will do.”

Warning bells went off in Bear’s mind as he glanced between Elbie and Jada. The former appeared to be ignoring his gaze, while the latter seemed just as confused as he was.

“Is there a difference between the suites?” he asked. “I refuse to wind up with a view of the garage if I booked a suite with a view of the mountains.”

Elbie raised herself to her full five-three height. “Of course not! Both rooms have a lovely view of the valley and Mt. Elbert beyond."

Jada tugged on the braids dangling in front of her ear, looking uncomfortable. “So, are they on different floors?”

“This ain’t no fancy lodge,” Elbie said. “We only have the one suite, thank you very much, and it’s on the second story just like advertised.”

“One suite?” Bear repeated in a low voice, trying to ignore the tingle of panic crawling its way up his spine.

Excerpt 2:

Unable to help himself, Bear wrapped his arms around Jada and pulled her over so she was straddling his lap. “What about you, Jada Cooper, are you mine to carry?”

Her smile was pure femininity. She slid her hands from his cheeks and through his hair until they were looped around his neck. Her gaze dropped to his lips. Bear had to bite back a groan at the look she gave him. Like he was steak and she was a lioness ready to pounce.

“Tonight,” she whispered, pressing her lips against his briefly. “I’d rather just be yours.

He was instantly hard. “I think I can handle that.”
