1/2 years ago, I started running a simple story about a simple guy in the Navy
through my head to fall asleep faster; it worked. Then while I was commuting to
and from work, I ran the story in my head. I started to get to the point where
I forgot dates, so I began to write important dates and events down.
One
night sitting at home with my laptop, I started to write. What I initially wrote
has long been cast into the “outtakes” file, but I nonetheless started. The
story took on a far different life once the words started being placed on the
screen.
After
spending a good deal of time on my first draft, I thought it might be good to get
some writing guidance. I joined a few writers groups, and they really didn’t help
much. I saw a post for a new Romance Group, so I joined it. Yeah, I am one of
the few guys in that group, and at first, I’m sure the ladies thought, “oh
great, another weirdo” but, I seriously wanted to learn.
I
found that some of the points they were making about writing, I had already
been doing. So, that made me feel great. Other issues I added to my writing
style. It seems to have paid off!
Today March 23, 2021, I officially join the ranks of published author!!!
“In
The Stars is a page-turning, emotionally charged military romance you just
won’t be able to put down.”
“It’s An Officer and a Gentleman with a splash of Fifty Shades of Grey.”
You never know where or
when that special somebody will walk into your life...
Emily Rosen was a broken
woman following her divorce, so she joined the Navy and hoped to do something
meaningful with her life. She threw herself into her career and excelled, along
the way swearing off dating.
Gene Bain had his Naval
career back on track after sustaining a significant injury. He had already used
his time back on active duty to its fullest: not only had he volunteered to
deploy on USS Caron, but he was leading a dangerous operation to prevent a
major terrorist attack.
When a chance encounter
throws career Navy sailors Emily and Gene together in Naples, what starts out
as a working arrangement slowly turns into much more.
Neither wants to make the
first move, but when it finally happens, reality crashes down around their
dream. Can Emily learn to accept love, or are the scars of her past too strong,
even for Gene Bain?
